SOFINS 2025: Multinnov at the service of Defense

Apr 10, 2025

April 1-3, 2025, Multinnov took part in the SOFINSthe Special Forces Exhibition, to present its technological solutions dedicated to complex environments. This edition was a strategic opportunity for the brand to assert its ability to offer sovereign, high-performance technologies tailored to the operational needs of Defense and Security players.

What is SOFINS?

Held every two years at Camp de Souge, near Bordeaux, the SOFINS (Salon des Forces Spéciales et de la Sécurité) is a unique event in Europe. Conceived by the Commandment des Opérations Spéciales (COS), in partnership with the Cercle de l'Arbalètethe three-day event brings together all French special forces and their industrial partners, to promote technological innovation in support of tactical action. Unlike large institutional trade shows, the SOFINS stands out for its immersive, operational dimension: dynamic demonstrations, real-life trials and direct exchanges with end-users enable manufacturers to put their solutions to the test in the field.

It is against this demanding backdrop that Multinnov wanted to showcase its products, backed by recognized expertise in inspection in confined environments, but also by recent developments in line with the growing needs of the military sector.

Why are we at SOFINS with Multinnov and Drone Français?

A strategic opportunity to promote French know-how

The presence of Multinnov s presence at SOFINS 2025 is part of a clear commitment to offering innovative, robust and sovereign technologies, designed in France to meet the specific challenges of defense. Faced with a market dominated by major industrial powers, it is becoming essential for the French armed forces to be able to rely on solutions that are made in France, designed for their uses and managed locally.

Our robotic inspection systems, historically developed for the industrial sector, naturally find their place in the needs of the defense sector: reconnaissance in confined environments, non-contact inspection, exploration of buildings, tunnels, ducts, or collapsed spaces.

Technological solutions for new military challenges

Modern combat increasingly takes place in degraded or inaccessible environments. Special forces need equipment capable of operating in confined areas, without endangering the lives of operators. This is precisely where the wireless inspection robots developed by Multinnov come into their own.

At SOFINS, we presented :

  • The Stereo2 : a compact, agile indoor drone equipped with a high-performance optical stabilization system. It enables 3D exploration and mapping of closed environments, without GPS, and with real-time video transmission. The Stereo2 stands out for its ease of use and ability to fly in highly restricted areas, with excellent autonomy.
  • The Roview2: a ground robot specialized in the inspection of partially filled or flooded pipes. Although originally designed for industrial use, it has concrete applications in securing sensitive infrastructures, discreet observation and the search for improvised explosive devices (IEDs) in complex environments.

In addition, the technological building blocks developed by Drone Françaisa subsidiary of Multinnovsubsidiary, were also highlighted: flight controllers (FC), ESC, on-board electronics, all designed in France and perfectly suited to FPV or autonomous configurations. This modular approach makes it possible to offer customized solutions to the units that need them.

A dynamic of constant innovation

Be present at SOFINSalso means demonstrating a constant commitment to innovation. At Multinnovwe don't just adapt existing tools: we design solutions specifically for mission-critical applications. This means actively listening to the needs expressed in the field, agile R&D, and controlled local manufacturing. Our discussions with the various units present confirmed the growing interest in autonomous, lightweight, versatile and easy-to-deploy tools. The inspection drones designed by Multinnov are a direct response to these expectations, while maintaining a high level of reliability and resistance to hostile environments.

A commitment to technological sovereignty

SOFINS 2025 was also an opportunity for Multinnov to reaffirm its commitment to French technological sovereignty. In a tense geopolitical context, national control of critical components is becoming a strategic security issue.

That's why we're working with Drone Français is to offer a credible, competitive national alternative, geared to the needs of the field. Our products aren't just "assembled in France", they're conceived, designed, tested and produced locally, with full traceability and control of key components.

SOFINS 2025, a high point for Multinnov

The participation of Multinnov s participation in SOFINS 2025 is part of a dynamic of growth and diversification towards the defense and security markets. Our historical expertise in confined environments, combined with our capacity for technological innovation, means that we can now offer tools tailored to the requirements of special forces and intervention units.

Our presence at this strategic trade show confirmed the interest in our solutions, both in terms of inspection robotics and sovereign embedded technologies. It marks an important step in the development of our partnerships with the defense industry.

Multinnov intends to continue innovating, listening to needs in the field and offering 100% French solutions that are high-performance, secure and tailored to the most complex missions.
