The use of a drone is particularly suitable for inspecting collapsed tunnels. It is also possible to send a drone to check that a conveyor belt is working properly, or to inspect the inside of machines such as crushers without any personnel inside.

A drone can also be used to survey caves and even map natural formations.

All this, coupled with photogrammetry technology, reduces the time needed to carry out these tasks and improves operator safety, making them exceptional tools for scientific research in geology.
